The results of your work don’t define your worth.
We tie our successes and achievements to our work so much that we forget there is a God who works in mysterious ways.
So, when work fails, it seems like all is lost.
But countless times in my life, I have seen God be a rock in the form of Jehovah Jireh (the Lord that Provides).
I would receive gifts that my money never bought and that I couldn’t afford at the time. God would elevate my status by sending material possessions my way, and it makes me wonder to myself, “This never came from the invoice I just sent to the client; how is it that I have this?”
Now, when my wife and I pray for material things we need, we don’t focus solely on the financial returns of work. Instead, we ask God to do it His way, because we know He can decide to give it to us for free.
So, as you work, don’t limit who you can be or what you can have to what you earn. Do your part by harnessing and increasing your earning power. But let God do His part by showing off His power in your life.
Work. Pray. Believe.
Hack Your BODY
How can we live knowing we can be blessed beyond work results?
As we grow in our careers, it becomes easier to hit new milestones because we build experience from reaching previous ones.
As you work and see how God opens new doors beyond what you could have orchestrated, it becomes easier to trust Him for greater blessings in future.
He will start small, and then keep doing bigger things. But you must do two things to see those bigger blessings:
- Be grateful for the previous blessing
- Trust Him to do more
As this happens, you will stop attaching your self-worth only to what’s in your bank, but to what God can do in your life.
You may earn $1m annually, but you can have material blessings worth $10m. People will think you are that rich. They won’t understand that you found a way to bring into existence what you already have spiritually.
That’s just how it works in this kingdom we’re a part of.
