Power Up Your SPIRIT
“…weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.”
Psalms 30:5 NIV
There’s nothing more painful than a process.
In the process of becoming, we cry, incur losses, weep, and get hurt. Then we grow into who God wants us to be, and only then do we see the past as important and necessary for our current future.
Night-time is when men sleep.
It’s when cells regenerate, and the body grows.
It’s also when powerful people set the course for the day.
During this period, we are not fully in control of what happens to us, but we know something is happening.
Then the morning comes, and we experience the results of what was done at night.
If you had a good sleep, it’ll show.
If you had a nightmare, it’ll show.
If you do not sleep, it’ll show.
The Psalmist says that the outcome of the morning is different from what goes on at night.
So do not judge your future by what you are experiencing now. Your future still has a chance to be different.
You are only going through a process, and if you yield to the help of God, the rejoicing is sure to come in the morning.
Hack Your BODY
How can we endure the season of weeping even as we grow in our work?
There’s no fixed rule to this because we have different experiences. And we experience weeping at different intensities.
But I learned something from my dad that I’ll share.
When I was younger and going through some form of hardship, perhaps with school, he would ask, “What lessons are you learning?”
We are fond of asking, “What did you learn?” only when the season has passed.
But how about you tune up your mind to pick out lessons even when you’re in that difficult season in your work?
It might seem painful to do this, but it is possible. It is why I can endure certain work experiences when others want to give up.
In such situations, I change the lens I wear so I can see things differently.
If you can change your lens at the weeping stage, you will see the rejoicing (joy) even before it manifests.

“If I were giving advice to someone in my situation in life right now, I would tell them to…”

I wrote this newsletter article, not because I’m done with my process, but to also remind myself of what to do in my current season. We are all in the making season but in various stages.
If you were to pass it on by advising someone going through a situation like yours, what would you say?
Be the light.
