Power Up Your SPIRIT
Praise the Lord, as he deserves! Every day he helps us with our troubles. He is the God who keeps us safe! Selah.
Psalms 68:19 EASY
Being a father just puts into context God’s expression of fatherhood to us. Sometimes it’s difficult to understand how God works because it looks mystical. But as I watch my daughter interact with me, I just smile.
As a toddler, she would do everything possible to hurt herself. To her, she’s exploring her environment, but for me, I’m busy running after her, scolding her when he gets naughty and protecting her from germs and bodily harm.
When she can’t wear her clothes well and gets frustrated, I help her. When she tries reaching for something too high, I pick it up and give it to her. Daily I do my best to help her with her troubles and keep her safe.
God does this for us too, and the Psalmist says, praise God for all these actions. Praise Him ahead of each day because you know that God will help you with your troubles at work and keep you safe.
So, tell your boss and clients to “bring it on” because you are backed by God and have nothing to fear!
Hack Your BODY
How do you deliver excellently at work even when your job is on the line?
When the work you do is threatened, you feel less secure, and fear can drive your daily actions, causing you to take actions that bring the “negativity” in the air to pass.
Let’s look at a few ways to still do the work amidst job insecurity.
- Don’t give in to overwork. You may be manipulated into taking on more work in the name of proving yourself. If you go down this path, you will never come out of it.
- Do the work on your task list well and get help where necessary. During such turbulent times, have someone review your work before you send it out.
- Be responsive to the best of your ability. Answer questions and clarify objections when asked.
- Have an ally at the table. The table is where important decisions are made. Be close to someone on the decision-making team who can speak for you. I’ve done this several times for team members and partners.
- Have a plan B. I hate to say it, but terrible things happen. Don’t be left out in the cold. Start searching for a new job or client.
- Pray so that your steps are ordered by God.
