How has passion influenced your work?

In whatever work we lay our hands on to do, passion has an important role to play. There’s the school of thought that says passion never counts, but I’ve always disagreed with that statement. Perhaps it’s because everything I’ve done has been fueled by my passion for it.

When you start a project, business or get a job that you’re not passionate about, you’re limited to only the best practices, tips, tricks and strategies that others tell you. Because your drive isn’t internal, what you see is almost always what you get.

On the flip side, the passion you have helps you do over and beyond what others may call impossible or unnecessary. It doesn’t mean you’ll move faster or be wealthier than everyone else, but you’ll do things differently and feel more fulfilled.

You don’t need to have a passion for a specific craft. Sometimes you might really just love solving problems in a particular industry and realise that any type of business or job you start in that industry just blossoms.

Asides having the talent, King David had a passion for writing and producing songs that expressed feelings and were soothing to the soul. No matter the battle or the turmoil he faced, he left a legacy that we still reference today in our worship to God.
