Power Up Your SPIRIT
So, we do not look at the things that we can see in this world. Instead, we look at the things that people cannot see. The things that we can see are only here for a short time. But the things that we cannot see will continue forever.
2 Corinthians 4:18 EASY
X-ray vision.
Mind reading.
Telepathy.
These were the powers of some of the greatest superheroes I knew growing up. Any hero with any of these powers was unbeatable.
While we know superheroes aren’t real (well, maybe they are, but are kept in a top-secret lab, who knows?), we find ourselves expressing these “powers” daily through the help of one key person…
The Holy Spirit.
Through discernment and our gifts, we can tell when a friend has a heart problem that needs healing (x-ray vision).
We can know what a person is thinking and be prepared ahead of time, just like Jesus (mind reading).
We can also know what a colleague should do in a situation and pray for God to minister to him/her, so they make the right choice (telepathy).
But beyond all of this, we can feel the presence of God, experience love, show kindness and give mercy.
We can’t see these things, but we can cause them to manifest physically through our actions.
Beyond money, new toys, fame, or sex (which aren’t bad, depending on your intent), those things we can’t see are what make life worth living.
When we are long gone, we are remembered for how we made people feel.
Money will come and go, but that young lad whose education you funded out of the generosity of your heart will never forget the confidence you gave him to stand tall with his peers.
Think about it.
Hack Your BODY
How can we shift our focus to the things that people can’t see?
This is what has worked for me:
- Meditation: A Bible verse a day, keeps the wicket human heart away. That’s how my spirit is empowered.
- Self-Reflection: I have done terrible things that I regret. Reflection helps to ensure that the next time I’m in a similar position, I take positive action.
- Observation: My introverted nature helps me observe how others work and determine how I want to work in a way that is good and impactful.
- Reminders: Constant daily reminders of what’s important and what’s secondary are necessary. Understanding that value is important, and money comes after helps me pursue the right thing.
If you choose to implement these, you’ll see your heart posture gradually change and the physical manifestations through your life, relationships, and work.
