Power Up Your SPIRIT
“Casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,”
II Corinthians 10:5 NKJV
While teaching bible study in church a while back, I mentioned that winning the battle we fight doesn’t depend on how much time we spend praying.
I said that we are in a constant battle of the senses. Every information that comes through the five senses plants thoughts in our minds that influence everything else.
And this is why the Apostle Paul tells us to work on our minds because our soul is precious. But the works of your soul will yield to the most dominant part of you – your flesh or your spirit.
Give in to the things of this world, and your soul will want them too. Give in to spiritual matters, and your soul will filter out the desires of the flesh.
As you power up your spirit and yield more to the instructions of the Holy Spirit, the power of the flesh gets weaker. Your soul also switches lanes gradually.
This isn’t a one-month soul-snatching exercise. It’s a lifetime.
So, don’t stop empowering your spirit. That’s how you win this war.
Hack Your BODY
How can we have only Godly thoughts at work?
Every organisation has a mix of personalities. Even the church has those driven by the flesh and those that are driven by the spirit.
Every second, someone from either side of the divide communicates with you.
Every communication sends out messages. You can’t stop these messages from being sent out, but you can control what you do with them when received.
There was a time when my wife always complained about the negative thoughts she had towards an acquaintance. The thought came often, and she would dwell on it.
One day, she faced the adversary and said, “The next time you bring this bitter thought about this person to me, I will pray for her”.
Guess what? She had the thought again, and she burst into tongues. The enemy will always evaluate your boundaries.
After a short while, she realised the thoughts stopped. Because the enemy also didn’t want her praying for the lady, the thoughts just had to stop.
It was a funny experience but still serves as a good example of bringing thoughts into captivity.
So, you may be unable to always have Godly thoughts at work. Suggestions will always be made.
But you can always switch to Godly thoughts. This then influences how you treat others physically. Your reaction, in love, will contradict the negative thoughts they tried to plant intentionally or otherwise.
It’s a simple hack that, if implemented constantly, brings results.

When you know your thoughts, you understand how fierce the battle is for you.
Write down your answers to the question and take steps to transform them.
