This Is How To Work Without Missing It

“Put God in charge of your work, then what you’ve planned will take place.” Proverbs 16:3 MSG

When you’re used to being in control of everything, delegation becomes difficult because you temporarily lose that control. Putting someone in charge of something gives them decision-making power.

This person you delegate to will also have their way of doing things. It may not match your approach, but the work gets done with different and better results.

Trying to take hold of the work you have committed into someone else’s hands shows a need for more trust in their abilities. Eventually, the person will have no choice but to allow you to do things your way.

This is what happens with God. Putting God in charge of our work means we give Him authority to do things differently and better. When we choose to retain control still, then we don’t trust Him.

How can we put God in charge and guarantee success?

God created man and has power over the universe. He then gave man dominion over everything He made.

If we genuinely want to dominate, we cannot do it without exercising our authority in Christ Jesus and God’s power. 

But this doesn’t mean we should think up anything and then stand on our authority in Christ to make it so. Our minds are vast, and when all we do is satisfy our flesh, God won’t honour such requests.

We put God in charge by aligning with His will. We first seek to understand what He wants (His kingdom) and align our hearts so we are in the right posture to receive (righteousness), and the success we desire at work will come to pass.

It might not be the type of success our flesh initially desires. But by walking closely with God, His kind of success is revealed to us, and we walk into it. On the journey, we receive several accomplishments and become transformed.

What would God have you do, and how does He want you to do it?”

These are questions we worry about. But by simply drawing near to God even as we go about our daily lives, we discover what He wants, and each day, our actions gradually come into alignment.
