We don’t speak words because we were made to speak them and so, we must.
No!
We speak words because without them, the universe and everything in it will cease to exist.
Why is so much importance placed on speaking the right words?
Why is it necessary to watch what we say in front of others?
Why must we season our words with salt?
Why can’t we just tell ourselves to stop talking? After all, that should be easier.
It’s because words are seeds that don’t disappear into thin air. They get planted and yield consequences according to the words spoken.
And the universe is simply a bunch of actions and consequences. It is what ensures it’s continuity, or death.
Our words are life and become flesh. When you continuously tell a little boy that he is useless, that word becomes flesh many years after when he actually becomes useless.
Everything you see around you is as a result of a word spoken by you or someone else.
When words are spoken, things are set in motion to accomplish it.
“Let there be curtains to cover our windows and shield sunlight”. And there were curtains.
“Let there be machines to help us move faster from point A to B”. And there were machines (we call them automobiles).
Without realizing it, our words don’t come back to us void but accomplish that which we set it to do.
We can’t stop saying words because it is not in our DNA to stay silent. If you choose to stay silent, the words of another man will take effect in your life.
So if we must speak, then we have to speak with understanding, authority and belief, knowing that we’re not just making mere sounds, but planting seeds and creating a reality that can either affect us or someone else.
A simple statement like, “Let there be light” has the power to command atoms and all other forces of existence to form what we see today (Genesis 1:3).
A single curse has the power to dry up trees from the root up (Mark 11:13-21).
It only takes one man to say a word and believe that it is possible.
And it will come to pass.
