“You mean I get all that for free?”
Whether you’re a 4 year old lad, or a 90 year old grandpa, that’s one statement you can never get tired of saying, especially when what is being offered is of immense value to you at the time.
Once you don’t have to exchange any form of money, time or effort to get something, it all suddenly looks like a good deal. Or sometimes a trap. Either way, some excited wires start to spark in your head while you do the math…
“Hmm….I wonder what he wants…”
“Is this for real?”
“Nah, there’s gotta be something else involved.”
“Wow! I never expected this. You’ve gotta be kidding me!”
And so on.
Regardless of whether or not you take action and actually receive the freebie, the bottom line is a free offering starts a conversation in your mind, especially if it’s something of great value.
We know that free is not always free, because if you say Yes, while they may not have gotten financial benefits from it, your attention has just been acquired.
On the flip side, when was the last time you did something for “free”? Remember that money is not the only means of value exchange.
Attention can reap more rewards for you in the long term if nurtured well, than that quick buck you want to make now.
