The Business of Five Loaves and Two Fish

“Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.” 1 John 3:18 NIV

Have you ever met someone who knows how to talk their way into the hearts of people? Yes, you have. Most of them are called “politicians”.

You hear all the sweet words about how they love the nation and the promises they have in their hearts. The words sound so powerful, that you are convinced that they love you.

Then they get into the office and the conversation changes. The actions don’t match the manifesto.

We see people do this all the time – at work, in romantic relationships, and even in families. But is that the way to go?

We have someone who did it differently. He not only talked about how he loved us but also showed it while on earth. That’s Jesus. And He made a promise to send the Holy Spirit who will enable us to talk about love and show it just the way he did.

And he kept his promise. So now, we don’t have to act like the politicians or playboys of this world. We can say what we mean and do what we say.

Actions speak louder than words. So, let’s start speaking louder because we can.

How do we show God’s love to others through work?

I love kingdom businesses because they’re an opportunity to tell the world about Jesus and create solutions that express that love.

We all have burdens, and how we talk about them passionately shows that we have love in our hearts. But when we address the burdens with corresponding solutions, that’s an act of love.

Jesus wanted to feed the multitude. But he didn’t stop there. He multiplied what was given to him and solved the food shortage problem. That was a love business, and it’s what we can do daily as believers.

Telling the world about Jesus goes beyond just saying it. We must activate our innovative minds to create solutions that express this love visibly.

When you make this your life’s work, whether now or in the future, you meet the demands of both ends of the anchor scripture – tell it and show it.

“To show more love to others through my actions, I must start…”

It could be as simple as asking someone else about their day or as complex as bringing a dead man to life. You know your path and your passions.
