“He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might, He increases strength.” Isaiah 40:29 NKJV
You only give a helping hand to someone who shows that they need it. You offer your assistance when you see someone in a vulnerable position, unable to help themselves. But when you commute to and from work and see able-bodied people walk as briskly as you, it’ll be weird to just randomly offer a helping hand to any of them. The first question will be, “What for? I never asked for your help.” They may need help, but they’ve not shown any physical reason to request that help. This is why many of us don’t receive the help we need. We know we need God’s help, but we act like we’re okay. God sees the intent of our hearts and knows our state. But He won’t poke His nose into something that you haven’t made His business. He only gives power to those who proclaim to be weak to Him. When you go to God and tell Him just how difficult things are, and ask for strength to go through it all, you get that strength. You won’t do this from a point of hopelessness but faith in God. And He always shows up.
How can we receive power and strength from God for work?
Sometimes, we know how to solve every problem that comes our way. And sometimes, we don’t.I’m used to being Mr. Fix It for clients and those who ask for my help. I’m almost always in solution mode, figuring out how to fix the issue. When I’m unable to find a solution, I get fixated on it so much that it takes so much brain power and distracts me from other things. When I realized how this affected my productivity, I switched to saying “Holy Spirit, I need your help with this problem”, right from the beginning.I may stop thinking about it for a short while, but eventually, I receive the answer in my heart like a parcel delivered to my doorstep.I cherish every moment where my inability becomes an ability because of God’s help. You can’t buy this in the market. You get it by being vulnerable enough to admit where you are weak. Otherwise, why should He bother?
“To become the best version of myself, there are areas where I am weak and need God’s strength. These areas include…”
This is your call to action. Be humble enough to receive help, and it will come. Make a quick list of areas in your life that could use a boost and present it to your Father in heaven. You certainly won’t feel a surge of electricity after that prayer, but your days will play out differently.
