Experience may not be the best teacher, but the fact remains that it’s a teacher.
God uses our experiences to prune and guide us through life. For many, their life’s work is born out of the experiences they’ve had and mistakes they’ve made.
So while it may look like you want to forget about some bad experiences you’ve had and move on with life, understand that to move on, learning the lessons from that experience is vital.
In trying to find out why you’re here and what you should be doing with life, a good way is to document your experiences and connect the dots. There’s always a pattern – a repetition of the same thing in different ways and at different times.
You may think you won’t remember such experiences but you’ll be surprised. God has a good sense of humour and knows how to store the most important facts for retrieval later.
It’s never really about what someone else tells you to do. Advice is good, but it has to be in alignment with what you know inside. If it isn’t and you go ahead, it’s not doom. He’ll simply add it to your arsenal of experiences that you’ll learn from.
Working with purpose starts with you and God first, then everyone else afterwards.
