Everyone’s on a journey. That’s not news.
But some of us have turned off unto roads we weren’t supposed to even travel on.
Why? Wrong information.
This is often due to having a faulty GPS system in your car or taking advice from someone along the road who doesn’t know anything about your journey.
You ask, “Hi, please how can I get to ….?” And he gives you the answer based on your question and not based on whether or not you should be going down that path.
Once you get the information you need, you step on the gas and move at top speed so you get there in good time, ensuring the car doesn’t veer off the road.
After a long time of driving, you finally get to the venue and behold, there’s nothing there. You step out of the car and ask another passerby, “Hi, please I thought this was where the event was taking place. Someone directed me here.” And the next response you get is shocking…
“Oh sorry about that, he probably didn’t understand you. The venue names are identical, but the event you’re looking for is at the other side of town, about 3 hours from here.”
Ouch! So much for speed and accuracy.
It’s always good to slow down and check your navigation system. “Am I still on track?” is a question that must never depart from your lips.
And try as much as possible not to dwell on advice from passers-by. Sometimes they’re right. Sometimes they’re wrong. It’s always better to ask someone going to the same place as you are.
Out of the trio, direction is key. When you’re on the right path, feel free to step on the gas, with your eyes on the road and your hands keeping the car in check. Just watch out for the bumps and ditches.
