SPIRIT
But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ”
Matthew 4:4 NKJV
I am so glad Jesus didn’t say, “Man shall not live by bread at all…” because if that were the case, then should we eat? Thankfully, he acknowledged that food is important.
But physical food is limited. It doesn’t feed your spirit, thus the need for spiritual food (God’s Word). Because we are spiritual beings restrained by the body because of our environment, our daily operations must flow from the Spirit. Otherwise, it’s like forcing a car to run on fuel it doesn’t have. It won’t move.
To achieve high performance at work today, start with your spirit.
BODY
Can God’s Word provide all the physical energy we need to do excellent work?
No! That’s why Jesus said, “…man shall not live by bread alone”. In other words, nourish your body with food so that you have the energy you need to think and act well.
When your healthy Spirit receives divine direction to help you ace that project presentation at work, your head must be clear enough to think straight and your legs strong enough to get to work early, otherwise you could miss the benefits.
Eat just enough so you have strength. Eat excessively, and you’ll feel almost useless. Be wise.
SOUL
“A productivity goal that I have now is to…”
(source: GrowthDay)
I switched my breakfast from normal meals to cereal, so I have just enough energy to stay alert in the mornings, before eating lunch and taking an optional nap. This way I stay productive during my most productive hours. What’s your productivity hack or goal?
