How often do you reevaluate your level of fulfilment?
Most people are usually torn between two sides: to do what they love doing and not make money or to just start something profitable enough to fund their passion later on.
There’s the school of thought that says once you pursue something you’re passionate about, you’ll technically be broke. My answer to that is, “it depends”.
For those who choose the other part of the divide which entails doing something, anything, that brings money right now just so they can do what they love as a side hustle now or later, I’d ask, “how’s that working out for you?”
The risk in this is: if you do not love what you do, even in the smallest way, your zeal to provide more value, develop better solutions and care for those you serve will be almost nonexistent. If that’s the case, how then do you want to excel?
It becomes a disservice to your leader and your customers if you approach work with an “I don’t care about y’all” attitude. It’s just never ideal.
So, what’s the cost of doing something you don’t enjoy? Today, reevaluate your work and why you do it. Then determine if it’s something you’d like to continue with, or perhaps drop off.
