“For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.” Ephesians 6:12 NLT
I have been aware of the unseen spiritual world from an early age. The first apartment my family stayed in seemed jinxed, and so my siblings and I often had bad dreams.
There was a time when I would see myself in a dream standing in the bushy part of the compound while seeing witches have meetings. Other times, I would be under attack, screaming in my sleep.
On most occasions, my dad would hear me, come to my room, and with a prayer, everything would get back to normal. Such experiences taught me that the physical realm is just one part of existence. There’s something greater.
I also believe it is God’s way of showing me how much impact the unseen world has on the world we see. Now, I know that what we see with our physical eyes are just manifestations of what already exists beyond the physical.
What does this mean, and how does the unseen world affect our work?
Work isn’t just physical. It’s a mechanism to create portals of manifestation. In other words, when you work, the unseen world gets translated into the seen.
For example, money doesn’t exist in the spiritual realm, but abundance does. When you work and get paid, money helps you make transactions, allowing you access part of that abundance physically.
But when you solely rely on the money you make, you only access a limited part of that abundance.
When you exert energy to work and results aren’t forthcoming, that’s not the time to exert more energy but to change strategy. You must access the unseen end of that portal and change whatever might be causing your work to be futile.
Everything God created is good. When the manifestations you experience are not good from your perspective, your job is not to fight with that friend you think is evil, but to go into the unseen through prayer and change things in your favour.
People give several strategies on how to do this, but Ephesians 6:10 states the importance of trusting that God’s power is mightier than everything seen and unseen.
So, as you work, trust God all the way. If He gives you the work, He’ll back you up with His power if you remember that you are empowered.

Don’t just go with the flow. There are benefits attached to work that you must enjoy. Ask God for direction if you’re exerting energy and seeing no results.
The knowledge I need already exists. When we tap into and apply knowledge that no one sees, we create manifestations that everyone sees.
