The first motivational book I ever read was “Goals” by Brian Tracy back in 2008. That was the year I stayed home as I was yet to gain admission into the University. As a family, we went to visit my aunt and she requested that my brother and I assist in cleaning the house.
At a very special moment, as if ordained by the universe, while arranging clothes with my brother and cousins in a room, my eye caught a thick book on the floor.
The cover design didn’t look like the covers of the novels I was used to reading. Out of curiosity, I picked it up just to see what it contained.
After flipping through a few pages, I asked my aunt if I could have it and it became a take-home gift.
That book started me on the transformational journey I’m still on today.
The funny thing is that year, while I took computer classes at a training school, I had a notebook where I wrote down my many imaginations about the future without really understanding how to set the goals needed to make those mental images reality.
It’s like God knew what I needed and led me to the exact resource at the right time.
This brings me back to the subject of finding purpose through service.
Perhaps I could’ve stumbled on the book in some other way, but the timing for this was perfect and I yielded to the call to serve (clean) without understanding the endgame.
Your life is directed by God. Follow His script and allow Him create a masterpiece out of you.
