“I thank you for the wonderful way that you have made me…” Psalms 139:14 EASY
Ever had someone tell you that you’re not special? That there’s nothing spectacular about you? Well, they’re simply telling you about an identity that’s not yours.
When you easily do things others find hard, and you know this fact, insecure people like to make a joke out of it and bring you down so that you look less intimidating.
Unknown to them, you’re just in your natural element, doing what’s super easy for you.
Many times, we downplay our superpowers because to us, they’re obvious. We tell ourselves that there’s nothing special about that gift since you can see a few people with similar gifts.
What we forget to realise is that God has a way of taking us out of where we may look ordinary and into situations and places that make us move from obvious to amazing. Unfortunately, when we find ourselves in such new terrain, we decide to be like everyone else to avoid attention. That’s not the deal.
David was ordinary in the bush and to his brothers. Protecting the sheep was an obvious responsibility that he had to carry out.
But when he was placed in a position where he had to protect the Israelite army, jaws dropped at his “obvious” act. After all, what’s in a sling and stone?
It may look like your “sling and stone” abilities won’t be effective for that new project you just started, after all, those who had successfully completed such projects in the past needed “armour-like” skills.
But hey, your obvious skill might just be the innovation that such a project needs at this time. Walk into that office with your sling in hand and prayer in your heart. You might just create a jaw-dropping effect.
