Moving to a new location, erratic morning schedules and terrible internet connection for the past one week taught me a lesson about change…
It can be a pain in the neck. Arrgh!
But what you do with that pain is up to you. You either live with it, or remove it.
Most people just live with it. So you hear things like, “Well you know things have changed, I can’t be consistent in that stuff anymore.”
For those who choose to remove the pain, the statement becomes, “What options do I have? I need to get back on track.”
There’s always a way to get back on track and make a comeback. But there’ll be a difference.
The difference is this: Every car owner knows the sounds of his/her car and change is like a new engine. You gotta rev it up and get used to the new sounds.
In other words, making a comeback to that awesome thing you used to do is not going to be instant. You’ll need to rev it up.
So don’t beat yourself up if it doesn’t happen as fast as you want. The gratifying thing is, you’re actively trying to remove the pain.
Peter first lived with the pain of change in John 21. It took an encounter with Jesus for him to actively make a comeback.
You can too.
