“In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.” 1John 4:9.
Reflecting on this, I can’t help but see it in everyday life. Growing up, my younger brother and I would go through my younger sister to gain access to things like snacks from our parents. She didn’t have the authority, but she had access because we knew they would turn us down.
Similarly, in the corporate world, to gain access to the CEO, you would have to approach the personal assistant or secretary. In both scenarios, it’s not that we don’t have the right to access these things directly, but rather, there’s a designated route we must take.
The anchor scripture gives us a beautiful picture of how God’s love is expressed towards us. It tells us that we have access to all the wonderful things God has in store for us, and this access is gained by living through Jesus. It doesn’t mean physically entering into His body, but standing on His authority and approaching God through Him. He becomes the key to unlocking all the resources and blessings God has made available to us.
How can we gain access to everything God has provided for us to fulfil our calling?
Living through Jesus is not just a concept for life after death, but for life right now. This means that when we need strength, encouragement, assurance, or clarity, we can access it through Jesus. Through Him, we receive the empowerment we need to move forward and overcome obstacles, doubts, and fears.
For every request or endeavour, we need to address it through the office of Jesus. We are reminded to depend 100% on the access that God has given us. Recognising the office of Jesus and making requests in His name opens the door to the abundance of resources and blessings that God has prepared for us.
Looking back, there have been many instances where I’ve attempted to do things with my strength, and they often led to failures. It’s a humbling realisation that I have limited myself by not fully embracing the access that God has given me.
“Today, I commit to living through Christ intentionally, seeking His guidance, and standing on His authority for every aspect of my life.”
I encourage you to take stock of how you may have tried to do things in your strength and present them to God. He has supplied everything we need, and through Jesus, we can access them.
Let’s walk through the office of Jesus to access the abundance of blessings and resources available to us. With this mindset, we can succeed in the work that we have been called to do.
