“How then shall they call on him whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?” Romans 10:14
Early in my career, I realised that authority figures in my church believed that our work in the church was fundamentally more important than the work we did from Monday to Friday. I struggled with this notion, feeling that it contradicted my understanding of God’s interest in every aspect of our lives. As I delved deeper, I realised that God is interested in all areas of our lives, including the work we do every day.
Whether it’s our ministry or our chosen career, we are called by God to these endeavours. As believers, we are called to share the gospel wherever we are, whether in church or at our workplace.
Our actions speak volumes about our beliefs, and our words must align with our deeds. People observe and learn from us through our actions, even before we utter a single word. This means that our lives are not segmented; instead, they are a cohesive whole that God is interested in.
How can we share the gospel even at work?
The anchor scripture outlines a process: first, a preacher spreads the message, then people hear it, believe it, and finally call on the Lord. This process applies not only to traditional preaching but also to our everyday work.
If we wish to draw others closer to God through our work, we start by integrating the gospel into our daily endeavours. Doing so makes our message heard, believed, and eventually acted upon.
As we consider our current schedule and our work, we should consider how we can integrate the gospel into our actions, words, and the products or services we offer. Whether changing how we interact with our colleagues, the words we use, or infusing the message into the products we create, these intentional steps help us become better ambassadors of God.
Our actions are vital in demonstrating our faith, and as we become intentional about integrating the gospel into our work, we become powerful agents of spreading God’s message.

Today, let’s be intentional. Before we even speak, people observe us, so let’s reflect our beliefs through our actions. Consider how you can integrate the gospel into your work.
Sometimes, it’s as simple as explaining how the Holy Spirit gave you the inspiration behind that astounding project or the encouragement you received from your quiet time to get things done and win that award.
