Can others trust your words without looking to confirm that what you said is true? Can people trust what you give them without being suspicious about your motive?
If God were to give a one-word answer to the questions above, it would be Yes. The anchor scripture already confirms it.
The universe and everything created listen to our words. But for the words to manifest, they must come potent with belief from our hearts.
But here’s the sad truth: even creation can’t trust our words because they’re born from doubt and not belief. That’s why it looks like we pray and nothing happens.
Integrity isn’t just about keeping your word to others. It’s also about believing what you say so that your word fulfils its purpose.
How can we ensure we always work with integrity?
Integrity is like a huge mountain with so many boulders on the way, waiting to hit you down. It’s that serious because, without the integrity of God’s word, nothing would have been created.
Events will always challenge what we say. If we decide to start a project, something will arise to challenge it. If we decide to meet a deadline, we end up having a reason to say, “Due to unforeseen circumstances, I cannot meet up.”
It then becomes our responsibility to subdue those events and overcome them. Many times, I’ve had such events subdue me instead. At other times, I won. I can only imagine what life would be like if I always subdued them.
To produce exceptional work, we must be intentional about integrity. It’s not a passive virtue but is the very fabric upon which we create.
Keep your word, and your words will keep you.
“I choose to place value on everything I say from now on.”
The idle words that we loosely say with friends or during gist get added to our portfolio—a database that’s constantly being created.
Once we begin to place value on what we say, we will only say things of value.
