“Meanwhile, the moment we get tired in the waiting, God’s Spirit is right alongside helping us along. If we don’t know how or what to pray, it doesn’t matter. He does our praying in and for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs, our aching groans.” Romans 8:26 MSG
I still find it fascinating how supernatural we are, yet we don’t realize it. It’s like having the abilities of Superman, yet you allow a bully to insult you at work, not because you’re humble but because you are truly ignorant.
I dare say that even our fathers in faith haven’t scratched the surface of what they’re capable of with the Holy Spirit on the inside.
For us, weakness turns to strength, poverty turns to wealth, blindness turns to sight, etc. I don’t need to understand how this happens, but I believe it because it happens.
The enemy has tried to steal access to our superhuman side since the beginning of creation. But Jesus came to take it back, show us how it’s done, and give us a card that can be swiped at any time to gain access.
Life doesn’t get better than this.
How can we express our supernatural side at work?
When God sat me down on January 6, 2022, to explain to me how our natural abilities mean nothing compared to how His spirit fills us up to be exceptional, I wept.
I’m not the kind of guy who easily cries, but that day, I realized how ignorant I had been. My eyes were opened to see how meaningless it was to strive in my power when there was a superpower just waiting for me to give him the go-ahead.
I understood that day that exceptional results, which seem impossible, can come to those who lay down whatever they think they know and allow God to guide them daily.
It’s as simple as not always defaulting to your intellect and understanding when making basic decisions, but asking for divine wisdom, even when the problem at hand looks simple enough to fix. It looks like an upside-down approach, but it works.
It takes a lot of discipline to constantly yield to God’s Spirit, even when we feel we don’t need to. But we turn out better off for it.
“I realize now that I have no power of my own. I choose to involve the Holy Spirit in these situations from now on…”
For me, this means asking for self-control and wisdom just before I have a work meeting or asking for eyes that see as I start reviewing work from my team.
What are those simple tasks that you do without blinking? You might just start getting supernatural results if only you asked for help.
