“What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” Romans 8:31 NKJV
In secondary school, I had a school bully turned friend who was on my side. Other school bullies respected him. He’d tell me, “If anybody does anything to you, they will have to deal with me.” I, on the other hand, just liked to stay out of trouble. While I never really got bullied, I liked the fact that I felt safe.
Our God is not a bully, but the creator of the universe. And just like the school bully said to me, He’s saying the same thing to you.
God is constantly working in us, causing us to take actions that please Him and align with His will for our lives. But there’s a bully who doesn’t like that fact.
In this verse, Paul says that the bully has nothing on you. It doesn’t matter how many strategies he deploys; there’s a higher power on your side, ensuring you don’t return to where you’re coming from.
The verse doesn’t just talk about spiritual warfare but also everything God is doing in us that the enemy is trying to take away.
So walk in this confidence daily, because there’s a big God behind you. You’re unstoppable.
How can we walk with this confidence in the work we do?
Every industry has adversaries, mini-bullies that try to make a mess of what we build. But they’re only bullies because we choose to see them that way.
We know that the spiritual influences the physical, and to believe that the great people you admire only deploy physical strategies for success is to live in ignorance.
Everyone has a spiritual power behind them, whether satanic or godly. And those who are serious are intentional about how they use this power.
Are you intentional about your relationship with God? We can’t produce a fire that we haven’t ignited. We can’t produce a storm that we haven’t summoned. We can’t produce light whose source we haven’t connected to.
There’s a process to everything. For us to walk in confidence daily, confessing that we’re confident isn’t enough. We must stand on God’s word and believe it.
And then we must use what we believe as we work. When we see a setback, we say the right thing. When our work is challenged, we act as God would have us. When our work needs inspiration, we go to the giver of light.
Walking in confidence is an action that is only birthed through a series of actions. So let’s do the needful.
“I choose to walk in confidence daily by doing the following…”
This could mean being intentional about when you pray, study, meditate, or separate yourself.
Whatever it may be, know that God is already with you. He’ll never leave nor forsake you.
