“In the multitude of my anxieties within me, Your comforts delight my soul.” Psalms 94:19 NKJV
Sometimes we fear trying new things, afraid of a negative outcome that’s yet to happen. This causes us to live life on the surface without reaching deep within to pull out the treasures in us.
You’d be surprised that the enemy knows this and constantly whispers a contrary voice in our ears, telling us we’re not good enough and should stay ordinary.
With all the cares of life, it’s easy to succumb and do the barest minimum. But if you had the opportunity to speak with your 80-year-old self, what would you hear?
I bet the advice would be different from how you’re living your life right now. You may have a fairly good life now, but there are internal conversations that poke at the parts not lived to the fullest.
So it doesn’t matter what possible outcome we’re anxious about; we have a father who can comfort us and help us leap for joy again.
How can we deal with the anxieties of fulfilling our calling?
When God calls us, it’s to something greater and not the regular. Greater, therefore, means we have never attempted it before. This comes with a box full of doubts.
We’ve been taught that God always provides the resources we need for the journey, but sometimes we want to give Him back those resources and stick with what we know.
But the only way we can feel comforted amidst all the anxiety is through faith. Believing that God has done what He promised helps us throw out that box of doubts from our hearts.
It helps us declare the right things and move forward, seeing through the obstacles ahead because we trust God. We often don’t know what’s ahead but know we’ll surmount what’s ahead.
“I am anxious for nothing.”
Negative thoughts about what could happen aren’t ours to keep. There will always be challenges and setbacks. Things may go differently than planned. The year could end without us achieving everything we set out to do.
