“Pour out all your worries and stress upon him and leave them there, for he always tenderly cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:7.
This verse speaks volumes about the power of surrendering our burdens to God and trusting in His care.
Life can often leave us burdened and overwhelmed, leading us to rely on our strength and self-sufficiency. It’s not uncommon to think that we must figure everything out by ourselves, carrying the weight of our worries alone.
However, this verse made me realise that self-sufficiency can be a form of pride. I came to understand this during a period of intense burnout and frustration in 2022, when I felt like there was no end to the challenges I faced.
Surrendering our worries to God is not just a one-time thing; it’s an ongoing practice. When we pray, we must lay down our burdens and truly release them to God. It’s not enough to say a quick prayer and then continue to worry about the same things as before. We need to trust that once we’ve given our worries to God, we no longer need to bear the weight. It’s an intentional act of entrusting our cares to God and believing He will provide the wisdom and solutions we need.
How can we humble ourselves and receive God’s care even as we work?
I vividly remember when I had an upgrade problem in a network marketing programme that I was involved in. I led several downlines, and the platform we were using had issues I couldn’t fix. That night, I turned to prayer, pouring out my heart and desperately seeking a solution, with tears and “God, please.”.
To my surprise, the following day, a clear solution came to me while relaxing with my parents and having conversations about something entirely different. As I received the solution in my heart, I ran to my room, switched on my PC, and in minutes, I solved the problem. My team was ever-thankful for it. It was a powerful reminder that God doesn’t just care about our family and health issues but is also deeply concerned about the challenges we face in our work.
As we navigate work challenges, whether we’re dealing with difficult colleagues, demanding projects, or unexpected obstacles, we must learn to pour out our concerns to God and leave them at His feet. Instead of carrying the weight of our worries, we can find peace knowing that our Heavenly Father cares for us. By surrendering our concerns to God, we are positioned to receive divine wisdom and solutions beyond our understanding.
“I choose to pour out all my worries and stressors on God.”
As we release our worries to Him, let’s have faith that He will guide us and provide the wisdom we need to overcome life’s challenges. The devil will always remind us that the problem is still present. But when that thought comes, what do we do?
We simply show gratitude to God for receiving an answer. Period. We have a Heavenly Father who cares, so let Him care for us.
