How Does Having Faith Please God?

“And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” Hebrews 11:6 NIV

When you head out to the mall, you go there with money and believe that you’ll see what you want, right?

This is the same thing with faith. The anchor scripture says when we come to God, we must believe that He’s there to hear us when we speak.

It doesn’t do anyone good to keep praying and have a belief that nothing is going to happen. You may say the words, but your heart works against you.

I could not understand how not having faith was unpleasant to God until I thought of this scenario:

Imagine your father coming for your birthday bash. As he enters your room to greet you, you say, “Sorry, who are you?”

That statement means you don’t believe you have a father. How do you think he would feel if you kept up with that belief?

He’ll feel sad, displeased, depressed, wasted, and every other negative emotion you can think of.

You can’t remember how your parents made love to create you, or what happened immediately after you were born.

But for some reason as you grew, you saw two adults that took care of you, and you eventually gave them names – mummy and daddy.

The first proof you had of them being your parents was because you believed, based on what you were told.

Now that’s faith. You did not need to see the conception or delivery for you to believe. And the fact that you believed pleased your parents. Also, you don’t need to see how mountains were created before believing that God exists.

The next time you seek God, believe that He’s there with you and has just what you are asking for.

How can we exercise more faith even as we work?

Faith is needed for everything, especially for things that don’t exist yet.

One practice I started is to express gratitude for work blessings that I want but have not manifested. Instead of asking and lamenting, I give thanks.

This practice is incredibly old, but sometimes, revelation looks like new knowledge.

God wants to show us just how much He can do through our work. We just need to have the faith that allows Him to work through us.

Believe that He is and that you’ll enjoy the blessings of seeking him. He’s always pleased with that.
