Someone once told me that, “If you hit a brick wall continuously, you’ll eventually create a hole in it. In no time, the wall will come crashing down”.
In other words, there are no obstacles too great that they can’t be overcome.
But the only way to overcome them is through consistent effort and intensity (the force at which you hit that brick wall).
Yeah, that makes sense. I know some people will start attacking all the brick walls in their lives and give themselves hope that one day the walls will crash.
But hold on a bit. It’s not as straightforward as you think. I have two questions for you:
1. Are you sure you’re hitting the right brick wall? I’ve had to quit projects because I realized they were time wasters. There’s no point hitting a brick wall that you weren’t even supposed to hit in the first place. Who sent you message? Some obstacles are unnecessary.
It’s like getting your visa application turned down several times, yet, you still keep applying. You need to ask yourself if you should be hitting that brick wall. But if it’s the right brick wall, then you need to change the tools you’re using. That brings me to the next question.
2. If you’re hitting the right brick wall, are you using the right tools? I can tweak strategies several times on one project because for some reason, they didn’t work. If you’re using a hammer to hit that brick wall in your life when instead, you should be drilling, well, happy hitting.
You have only one life here on earth. Don’t waste it hitting unnecessary brick walls. Even when the Holy Spirit is with you, you’ll still hit brick walls. But you can be sure you’ll hit the right ones using the right tools.
