“See, I have called by name Bezalel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah. [3] And I have filled him with the Spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding, in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship.” Exodus 31:2-3 NKJV
The New Testament is a fulfilment of the Old Testament. Christ came to fulfil the law and not destroy (Matthew 5:17). New experiences fulfilexperiences from the past.
When you see yourself taking specific types of actions today, you didn’t just start. There are seeds from the past that are simply shadows of what is to come.
In 2011, as an undergraduate studying physics, I found the ability to work remotely fascinating. I had started as a freelance writer, earning pennies in exchange for articles.
I had a neighbour who always had big ideas about new types of ventures to start. His wife recently started a food packaging business, and he asked me how they could amplify their brand.
At that time, I was only a freelance writer, but I found myself providing digital marketing advice and even helping them set up social media accounts for the brand. It was my first attempt, but it provided a satisfaction I never felt before.
Little did I know that this would become a daily activity for me. When I fully ventured into digital marketing about three years later, I forgot I had already started it.
In 2018, I started a mentorship program and put 30 people who wanted to start passion projects they felt called to do into a WhatsApp group. The result was several new impactful projects birthed after 30 days.
Since then, I have helped more people bring their global ideas to life through the power of digital. I’ve been simply fulfilling what had started long ago and working according to how God has filled me.
What skill has God filled you with? Is what you’re doing now connected to a previous experience in your life? Lean into it.
I’m mentoring another small group of people who want to start their first or next passion project that they feel called to do but are struggling to:
- Clarify doubts
- Validate the idea
- Drive it digitally
