SPIRIT
“But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.”
Hebrews 13:16 NKJV
Giving and showing love to others is built on the premise of faith. I say this because when you give out of what you have, it’s a sign that you believe that you cannot lack.
You know that giving that item out will not deplete your resources or worth in any way. That’s faith. And we know from Hebrews 11:6 that our expression of faith is pleasing to God.
What you give can be money, time, intellectual resources, and so on. It doesn’t matter how much or how little it is. What matters is, in proportion to what you have, does the act shift your focus to God or self?
Think about it.
BODY
How does doing good to others help us excel at work?
We know office politics can be a very bad thing if you don’t know how to play the game well. However, this shouldn’t stop you from doing good and showing love.
It all boils down to your values and what you feel is right or wrong. Sometimes, doing good to a cruel person can cause you hardship, especially when your kind act gets paid back with evil.
But you do it anyways, not because of who your colleague is, but because you know that the act will strengthen your faith in God having your back, no matter what comes next.
Others may advise you to be smart and use the golden opportunity to do evil instead of good, but you know better.

“The best lessons I’ve learned about other people lately are…”
(source: GrowthDay)
One thing I have learned (or rather, verified) about others in these past few months is that people can push themselves to do what must be done. They just need a strong why. This was one out of three points that I wrote in my journal today.
What have you learned about other people?
