I once read a business article that said, “24 hours is divided into three parts – 8 hours for sleep, 8 hours for work, and another 8 hours that’s usually unaccounted for.”
That’s a lot of spare time. While I’d like to say we should use that spare 8 hours wisely, it’s obvious that a sum of almost 4 hours out of it can be spent in traffic.
This leaves just 4 hours for us to cook, eat, bath, be with the family, do something fun, attend midweek Church service, do some exercise, read a book, etc. Obviously, 4 hours isn’t enough for all that. So we end up encroaching into work time or sleep time (sleep time is usually the victim).
We have less time to think, do good self-examination and make good decisions. Several years go by with us following this routine. Before you know it, life is snuffed out.
When you can, break up your 24 hours into 3 parts and critically look at how it’s spent. You’ll find a solution (if you spot a problem you don’t like).
