Power Up Your SPIRIT
“If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”
Romans 10:9 NLT
Have you ever tried to put in so much good work just to get validation?
I’ve been there.
I would do so much just so my mum would say well done. I would work overtime to prove that I was worthy of the job.
I would go the extra mile in Church service to prove that I was worthy of God’s grace and the rewards of service.
These actions weren’t intentional but subconscious. And when we see people who choose to not take the actions that we’ve taken to prove themselves too, we judge them.
But the truth is, trying to prove yourself is a sign of something deeper. Perhaps it’s a sign of an inferiority complex or low self-esteem. We just don’t feel good or worthy enough until we do these things.
But here’s Paul saying that there’s nothing to prove to get the greatest gift- salvation. We only need to declare and believe.
If God could make it easy for us to receive His blessings, then we don’t have to make things hard for ourselves.
God has validated you and me. That’s all we need.

How can you be more useful at work today?
How can we strive to achieve excellence at work without having to prove anything?
Here’s what the anchor scripture tells me.
- I only need to declare and believe that I have a healthy self-esteem
- I only need to declare and believe that I am worthy
- I only need to declare and believe that there’s nothing to prove
Our identity defines the results we get. If we identify as excellent because we have the spirit of excellence within us, we may make silly errors now, but that excellence will manifest the more we continuously declare and believe.
This way, when we see others who don’t meet up to expectations at work, we have more compassion because we know the formula…
Declare it. Believe it.

Answering this will help you see just how much you have grown. Once the day is over, you will realise that with intentionality, you’re 1% better than you were yesterday.
So, what’s there to prove?
