“And Jesus, immediately knowing in Himself that power had gone out of Him, turned around in the crowd and said, “Who touched My clothes?”” Mark 5:30 NKJV
A lot of us are fascinated by the power in the name of Jesus. Since a preacher has said the name is powerful, then it has to be. But not many have tapped from it.
Like the crowd, we push against each other and touch the Lord’s garment daily. We touch it like it’s always there, but we don’t submit the problems we face at work to the power we claim to know and have access to.
On many occasions, I have faced problems that I tried solving with my knowledge. Yes, some problems were solved, but what if they could have been solved differently if only I chose to intentionally leverage the power I had access to?
Many times, the problem would be solved after days or weeks of heartache before I realise that I never prayed about it. Like the crowd, I’d claim to follow Christ, make a few tries at feeling what His garment is like and jump at the excitement of touching His garment, but no impact was made.
On the flip side, I have also acted like the woman with the flow of blood who had an encounter that she won’t forget in a hurry. I have solved problems and achieved exploits in ways that even Christ will know someone touched His garment. This should be our daily reality.
As you rise daily to go about your business, know that there is no problem too small for God to handle. There is no crowd with contrary voices so thick that we can’t push through. We can be intentional with our faith and crave an encounter that will give us victory at work in a matter of seconds. We may be part of the crowd, but we can act differently.
