Do You Have A Knowledge Problem? Let’s Find Out

“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge…” Hosea 4:6 NKJV

Think about it…

Name any problem you’ve had in the past and try to remember how it got solved.

Did the solution visibly fall from the sky? Nope.

Did it appear in your living room? I don’t think so.

So how did you solve it? You or someone else most likely discovered or realised something. Someone acquired new knowledge.

Scenario #1

Consider this:

You’re doing a degree program and it has been difficult completing your tuition fees.

You’ve prayed, sold some of your stuff, and worked two jobs, yet after 3 months, nothing.

Then one day with the payment deadline looming, you called up an old friend who decided to ask about your education.

After pouring out your heart to him, he sends you just what you need to pay those fees.

Problem solved.

If you knew from day one that your old friend was the solution to your problem, you would have called. But because you didn’t have that knowledge, you stressed over the issue for months.

Scenario #2

Let’s go a little spiritual:

You used to excel at work so much that colleagues visibly envied you.

All of a sudden, the table turned and you stopped getting results.

Your boss got pissed, colleagues seem to be moving faster than you and it seems you may not have a job in a month or two.

You’ve tried putting in more effort at work, but nothing seems to be working. You’ve consulted with your mentor, but after months of trial and error, he also starts to avoid you because he knows the problem you have is bigger than him.

So you run to your Pastor because you have nowhere else to go. After some counselling, he receives a word of knowledge and reveals to you the colleague at work that is behind your downfall.

“A spiritual entity has been introduced into your life”, he says. After some prayers, he gives you instructions on how to engage with that colleague going forward.

The following day, you go to work feeling delivered and hopeful.

Two months later, you’re back on top, with accolades and everyone in the office on your side…except that colleague.

Problem solved.

If you knew from the beginning that your colleague was the primary reason for your setback, you won’t have wasted months doing trial and error. It’s still a knowledge problem.

The reason why some knowledge isn’t revealed to us immediately after a problem appears is because we may misuse it.

If you knew that your old friend was the solution in our first scenario, you may have called him too early. His heart may not have been prepared to give you that money.

In our second scenario, if you knew that the colleague was the issue, you may have had a confrontation which could have ended badly. Wrong move.

But that knowledge had to be withheld from you for some time so you could exhaust whatever options you felt you had. This way, you’d eventually explore the right channel that will reveal and help you apply that knowledge correctly and at the right time.

I have concluded that every problem is a knowledge problem.

So whenever I have an issue that needs a solution, I pray for the acquisition of new knowledge concerning the problem and a revelation of how to apply it.
