SPIRIT
“To him who by means of his power working in us is able to do so much more than we can ever ask for, or even think of.”
Ephesians 3:20 GNT
I’ve driven cars that hit 140km/h in less than 5 seconds and those that can take 10 seconds or more to hit the same speed. For all these cars, regardless of their acceleration, there is power working in them.
Relating this analogy to the anchor scripture makes me realise the following:
- The same power works in us, but at different rates. This is why the scripture recommends that we not compare ourselves with others. Just because your friend accelerates faster in life doesn’t mean you have a contrary spirit. You are simply different models.
- You can only imagine what 140km/h feels like until you hit it. Some cars make you feel like you’re floating at that speed. Some make you feel like you’re on the verge of death at that speed. Whatever you experience at that speed always exceeds the imagination you had. This is the same thing with the power at work in us – you can only imagine its expression, but the reality hits differently.
- You have an unlimited source of power in you. Whatever you have dreamed or imagined is only a fraction of what is possible. So, dream again.
It’s time to harness that power at work in you.
BODY
How can God’s power in us give us better results at work?
Understand this – the power in you works with what you ask for or imagine. If you want the physical manifestation of a promotion, a new source of income, awards, or the completion of a project, be ready to imagine it and then ask.
It is only after you take the first step that the power starts to change how you work to get you to that reality you want. It may be difficult to accept how His power works in you but count it all joy because your future will be grateful for the process.
SOUL

This is a big but important question. Answering this will kick-start the right imaginations you should have and the requests you should make in prayer. I want to become all God wants me to be, and so my head and heart must be in the right place. Change your thoughts, change your life.
