When you constantly get applauded amidst your colleagues and subordinates, you begin to feel like you’re better than them.
After all, you’ve been able to do what they couldn’t.
When you give instructions to team members and it looks like they made a collective decision to be sluggish, you find another way to get the job done, debase all of them and subconsciously feel they’re not as good as you are.
Stop. Think.
Understand That You Don’t Have But Have Been Given
The capacity you possess didn’t come solely from your background, experiences or challenges faced. There are others will very similar life events but totally different lives at the moment. One negative event can throw all that capacity and efficiency out the window.
What makes you different?
“See, I have called by name Bezalel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah. And I have filled him with the Spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding, in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship…” Exodus 31:2-3 NKJV
This is the same way you have been called to do exploits in your field.
You’re not better than others. You’re simply privileged to be filled with the Spirit of God.
When you see someone act at a level below what you’d consider as the standard, pray that they also become filled with the Spirit of God for exploits.
When we do this, self-righteousness becomes compassion.
