In my first year as an undergrad, I had a strange feeling that I wasn’t going to use my first degree to earn a living.
I wanted to because Physics was an interesting course. But at that point, instead of overthinking it, I just wanted to know the next few steps I had to take. The next step at that time was to keep attending paid seminars on purpose, passion, business, etc.
God took control of the rest. He channelled everything else in the direction He wanted. Looking back, I can see the importance of just knowing the next instruction without trying to figure it all out for Him.
It makes sense to know what’s at the end of the road, but focusing on what’s right in front of you removes anxiety.
I’d set a goal, write how I’d like to achieve it, show it to Him and say, “Here’s what I think. What do you think?” Then I’d get started and watch Him twist and turn events around in ways unimaginable ways.
You’re not all-knowing, so take it one step at a time. If you’re trying to achieve A and you see that through the unfolding of events, He wants you to achieve W, don’t call it a distraction. It’s direction.
