I have learnt that when you want something, you must break down any bridges linking you to what you don’t want.
When you want to move forward, set yourself up for it.
Why?
It’s the easiest way to express your faith.
When both your conscious and subconscious minds know that going back is not an option, all the forces of nature start to work in your favour.
An example is believing God for a new pair of shoes; you give out all your old ones, and then you tell God, “See my bare feet, they need shoes.”
Looks simple. But it can be darn hard, until you do it once.
Setting yourself up is doing what blind Bartimaeus did in Mark 10:46-52.
He didn’t set himself up by screaming. Everyone does that.
He didn’t set himself up by being persistent with his plea. Some people can win awards doing that.
He set himself up by casting away his garment in verse 50. In other words, he said, “I may still be blind, but I’m putting aside the garment of begging and blindness that everyone knows me with.”
For most of us, it’s usually, “Let me still leave the garment on, in case Jesus doesn’t heal me.”
Our concoction faith (faith mixed with doubt, ignorance, etc) won’t do us any good. We need complete faith for our work, business, family, health, finance, etc. God help us all.
