“So Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the presence of his brothers, and from that day on the Spirit of the Lord came powerfully upon David.” 1 Samuel 16:13 NIV
It’s easy to believe that it is only when physical oil is poured on you that you’re anointed. And so, we restrict anything anointing to gospel ministers while the rest are ordinary humans.
But the fact is still that if you are in Christ, you become a minister of the gospel and are worthy of the anointing. The oil is only a physical representation of the divine power behind the act.
David was anointed for the work ahead and this power worked in him for every feat he did. There is a realm of faith which we all have access to. But David didn’t perform from the realm of faith but something higher. He worked from the anointing and was always in His presence because of his relationship with God. His manifestations were instant.
Fighting Goliath was like an office task, not a pulpit task. David accepted a job that everyone else avoided. The vast and challenging project stood before him and tried to reduce his confidence as it did others. But he rode on the anointing. And he got promoted for it.
Being anointed for the work you do makes exploits become the order of the day. It empowers you and makes your little efforts yield massive results because there is something else at work.
But the moment you start to think that you are successful because of your skills or intellect, you begin to limit the power at work in you. Once your focus shifts from God to self, your results become limited to what self can do.
To be Superhuman at work is to do beyond what is humanly possible. And to do this, you need something super! If you have the spirit of God in you, then shift your focus to Him and go super!
Today’s Task: Identify a believer at work who has killed several giants and does it with grace, taking no personal glory. That person is super!
