If I stood in a room full of people and said this, everyone would raise their hands, including you.
It’s a good thing to desire. But as we know, the bible is full of conditions.
The focus scripture has its own set of conditions for riches, honour and long life – humility and fear of God.
How many of us truly satisfy those conditions?
I dare say, not many. Even those of us who feel we satisfy the conditions; we fall short sometimes. I say this because true humility requires total submission to God. That’s why it can’t be separated from fear of God.
The human condition is naturally prideful. Our greatest desire is to rule above everyone else and to feel good about it like we earned it.
The reason true humility is a key ingredient for a life full of fulfilment and prosperity is that when you finally get these blessings, you will give God the glory for them, which is what He wants.
Pride on the other hand tells you that you earned it. This is why we are attached to status and possessions.
The life of a believer is one that requires constant reflection. Do this regularly and you’ll see that your spirit gets stronger, subduing the flesh daily.

How can true humility help us work with people better?
Humility goes beyond walking into a place and not feeling bad because you weren’t revered. It is counting those titles and positions you hold as nothing and coming down to the level of those you want to reach.
That’s what Jesus did.
As leaders in business, ministry, and other parts of life, it’s sometimes difficult for those we lead to relate with us because of the pedestal we stand on.
But taking several steps down and telling people how we also feel their infirmities and then giving God the glory for our upliftment can make a huge difference in how we transform lives.
So whether you’re a manager in an organisation or you own the organisation, remember that you can be truly humble, and acknowledge the presence of God in all you do.
If Jesus did it, we can too.
