The subject of “finding and fulfilling purpose” will never go out of fashion because man is always searching for the meaning of life. This same subject has also led to confusion, indecision, and depression for those at the receiving end who are still trying to figure things out.
For a long time, I searched for clarity, reaching for something beyond me and despising what I already had in hand. I wanted the ultimate blueprint or vision that would define the rest of my life. There was absolutely nothing wrong with that. The problem was with the process, not the request.
Because we constantly ask why we’re here, we don’t see the benefits of where we are. Yes, some are privileged to get swift answers to their prayers after deep devotion and fellowship. But if you don’t get swift answers, what do you do? Should you put out the fire burning in you because you’re yet to encounter the inferno you seek?
I had read the focus scripture several times. But this time around, it ministered to me differently. So yes, you’re searching for the ultimate assignment, which is good. What’s your current assignment? What season are you in and what are the expectations?
God works differently. Sometimes, He only needs to see what we are doing to reveal where we are headed. You may have watched or listened to someone talk about the importance of discovering your purpose, and now you’re full of questions.
Pause.
Execute, with perfection, what you’re doing right now while you continue to pray for the revelation you seek. Understand that every experience is going to lead you to that expected end. So don’t let your current passion die because you have many questions.
Do your work with all your might and the answer you seek might be in the next project.
