Power Up Your SPIRIT
And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.
Romans 8:28 NLT
We’ve been called to a life of faith and trust in God. It’s difficult to do this when all we see are the hardships and disappointments of work and life.
But that’s where the first part of the condition in the anchor scripture comes in – “…those who love God.”
This means that despite the terrible things that happened, you choose to not hold it against God, but give Him the reverence that He deserves while still obeying His will.
This is why being a believer is no easy feat. We must die daily for us to see things from God’s perspective. It is only when you do these things that you see how God is turning that very terrible situation around for good.
Remember this: He is causing EVERYTHING to work for your good, not some things. So, it doesn’t matter the magnitude of the challenge, have some faith. Don’t waste your energy getting worried.
Hack Your BODY
How can you have faith in what God is doing even when work experiences are not positive?
These are a few strategies that have helped me keep my mind clear and focused on what God is doing.
- Condition your atmosphere. Control what your senses absorb by ensuring you’re listening to and watching only edifying content. This could mean listening to songs, having a conversation with a fellow believer, or taking time out to pray.
- Mentally observe your thoughts. You will hear a lot of negative voices when things aren’t going as planned. You must silence those voices by intentionally replacing negative thoughts with positive ones.
- Break out of your routine. Take yourself out, spend more time meditating, or take the day off to just be at peace with yourself.
- Eat well. Sometimes hunger has a voice and it’s not a good one…lol! Eat a meal that your body will thank you for.

“A few habits that I need to start to have more mental and physical energy every day include…”
(source: GrowthDay)
The law of conservation of energy in Physics states that “energy can neither be created nor destroyed, but it can be transformed from one form to another.”
In other words, if you don’t create habits to redirect your energy to more mental and physical uses, it’ll transform into something else – negative energy that you don’t need.
I’ve stopped exercising for a while, and I noticed a drop in energy during the day. So that’s a habit to pick back up. What’s your abandoned habit?
