Books, Courses and Tools to Help You Work Differently
The 5am Club by Robin Sharma

Our daughter arrived on the scene in June 2021, and it looked like I lost control over my day. She influenced how we slept at night, when we woke up in the morning and how we spent our day. Even after she started daycare, we couldn’t get a grip.
We knew this was a new phase and it had challenges, but our desire was to still build thriving careers and fulfilling lives.
By October 2022, I couldn’t take it anymore and created a vision board. The first item on the board was to wake up at 5am daily since I majorly work from home. As if God heard my prayers, I walked into the store about a week later and spotted “The 5am Club” book on the shelf. I bought it at once. I had never seen it sold there before and never saw it afterwards.
I started reading and taking notes. By January 2023, I completed the book, collated all insights I extracted and created an action plan. I shared this with my wife, and we agreed on the first steps.
Not only do I wake up by 5am now, but I take control of my day by spending the first two hours in solitude, exercising, praying, meditating, and writing. By 7am, I feel a sense of fulfilment, even before work starts and distractions set in.
My workday has also transformed because based on the strategies in the book, my mornings before 1pm are spent on high-value tasks, with almost no distractions (I can’t seem to stop my wife from being a distraction…lol)
If you’re currently in this phase or you just feel you need more control over how you spend your time, so you feel a sense of fulfilment, I highly recommend the 5am Club book. You can get it anywhere books are sold.

GrowthDay by Brendon Burchard

I’ve never been consistent with journaling, but while reading the 5am Club, regular journaling was a recommended practice. In December 2022, I had a coaching session with Steve – one of Brendon Burchard’s High Performance Coaches which re-introduced me to Brendon’s community.
As I read Brendon’s blog, I stumbled on GrowthDay – a personal development app by Brendon, built to facilitate growth on a daily basis. I signed up for the 14-day trial and I couldn’t help but subscribe afterwards.
Now part of my morning routine includes opening the GrowthDay app and defining how I desire to spend my day, listening to Daily Fire motivational recordings by Brendon, reading insights from the community and putting my thoughts down.
I particularly love the random daily Growth Prompts and Life Scores that help me grade my improvements on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. I also like the fact that the app isn’t designed to make me feel guilty for not journaling on a particular day.
If you’re looking to get some order back into your life and have a way to measure your daily growth, sign up for the 14-day trial by clicking the button below.
